The district has a developed road net, 80 % of the roads have modern hard cover. A federal first class highway crosses the town. The way from Moscow to Egorievsk takes 1,5-2 hours. Egorievsk is connected by bus to all neighboring cities: Kolomna, Shatura, Orehovo-Zuyevo, etc. There are two railway routs to MosÓow: via Voskresensk and via Kurovskoye. "Egoryevsk-2" railway station is equipped to cargo standard 20-tonn containers. Currently the air-cargo company "RIAK" is con-structing a cargo airport on a base of the Egorievsk Air Club. As a result, the direct air cargo from-to Egorievsk will be possible.

The Egorievsk district has 220 villages and settlements. Almost all of them are used as summer holiday places. There is still a lot of nice space for summer bungalows, tourist hotels and camping grounds.

Egorievsk is turning into a perspective economic center. Its main industrial products include footwear, textile, machine tools, glass wool, confectionery, timber, medicines, and some others. The district’s economy is on the rise. In 2002 the gross product has grown to 3288m rubles (comparing with 2170m rubles in 2000). For the last 3,5 year 17 new factories have been opened (4 of them in a countryside), and 1500 new jobs have been created. The new investments in the area are a priority.

Now five foreign plants are being constructed in the district with the investments from US$10m to US$120m as well as two Russian owned factories.

There are well-known industrial leaders in the district, such as “Gedeon Rihter” (Hungary, pharmaceutical), “Saint-Gobain” (France, insulating glass-wool),“Bella-TZMO” (Poland, hygiene products), “Kronospan” (Austria, fiber boards).
