Most of the territory is flat, with small hills. The most of soil is sandy.The territory has sufficient humidity with rather warm summer and relatively mild but steady snow cover winter. The four sea-sons are nearly perfectly timed.


All rivers of the district are small. The water surface occupies 4669 hectares or 1,5 % of the total. The biggest reservoir occupies about 20 sq. km. The water is used for irrigation, water supply, fish industry and recreation. The fish industry ponds of the district are the biggest in The Russian Fed-eration. Nice nature and good environment make the district a good place to live and work in.

The mineral resources of the region are: fusible clay, sand, phosphates and peat. The Egorievsk phosphates field is also spread to the territories of 4 neighbor districts . The region has the largest peat deposits in the Moscow province, which is listed in the State Fund.
